Description:

Day 1: Tbilisi
We will visit “Old Tbilisi” – Metekhi church (13-th century), Narikala fortress (5-th century), Sulfurous baths, Synagogue, Mosque, Sioni Cathedral (6-7-th centuries). Mtatsminda (holy mountain)- Mamadaviti’s church (19-th century) and walking on the rustaveli avenue. Overnight stay in Tbilisi

 

Day 2: Tbilisi-David Gareja-Kakheti(as called wine region)
We drive to David Gareja(6-th century), cave complex located in a stark, semi-desert landscape. After seeing Lavra Monastery we walk up for about 50 minutes to Udabno Monastery to enjoy its wonderful painted caves and dramatic views across to Azerbaijan. In the evening we arrive in one of the Kakhetian village and overnight stay there, we will have a local Georgian traditional food and of course local wines.

 

Day 3: Kakheti-Tbilisi
Sightseeing of Kakheti: Nekresi monastry complex(4-16th centuries), Gremi fortress (16-th century). Alexander Chavchavadze's museum in Tsinandali and botanical garden. Overnight stay in Kakheti. Overnight stay in Tbilisi.

 

Day 4: Tbilisi-Yerevan
City tour, Genocide museum, Paradjanov museum, walk in the city. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

 

Day 5: Yerevan-Garni-Geghard-Yerevan
You will visit Garni temple(1st century) and Geghard monastery(7th-8th centuries). Overnight stay in Yerevan.

 

Day 6: Yerevan-Echmiadzin-Khor Virap-Yerevan
You will visit Echmiadzin monastery(5th century) and Khor Virap monastery-the site where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned by an Armenian king for preaching Christianity. From there is very good possibility to see famous Ararat mountains. Overnight stay in Yerevan.

Check out and transfer to the airport.
