TBILISI – is the capital of Georgia. The name of the city comes from the Georgian word- (tbili), which means warm in Georgian. According to the legend, the king Vakhtang Gorgasali hunt the pheasant, which fell into the water. It turned out that the water was warm naturally. The king founded city on this place. There are sulfurous water baths in the city that are still functioning. There are many architectural monuments in Tbilisi those which are in full harmony with modern architecture of the city, among them are Meidani, Sioni cathedral (6-7 centuries), Metekhi church (13-th century), Synagogue, mosque, Karvasla, Narikala – fortress. Mamadaviti church is on the branch of the Mtatsminda mountain, was built in 19-th century. River Mtkvari runs in Tbilisi

The city of Gori is situated in Kartli region. This city is famous for the fact, that it was the homeland for the well-know communism leader Josef Stalin. There is a museum, which was called on behalf of him. His things, cabinet and the house, where he was born is still existing on the territory of the museum.

GORISTSIKHE is situated in Gori. According to the historical sources many wars took place here. Evidence for that are the ancient monuments - that are still existing on its territory.

UPLISTSIKHE (God’s fortress) is situated near the city of Gori. According to the historical sources, Uplistsikhe complex carved into the rock was established in 6-4 centuries B.C. The town had military-strategic importance. Historically it was one of the biggest road buildings of the basic trade artery in the Caucacus.

BOLNISI SIONI - is one of the ancient monuments of Georgian culture. It is situated in the southeast of the region. Hardly, but still you can see the inscriptions on the wall of the cathedral, which represent ancient samples of Georgia language. According to the old inscriptions the cathedral was built in 478-493 years, the inscriptions give us other information about the events, which took place in that period.
